Ways to Save Water

If we use the already used water - like water used for utensils or washing of clothes for washing of car or watering plants then we can save almost 100 percent of water.

A Gizmo Sometimes Helps!
by: Rona

It's true, most of us do not use grey water anything like enough. It's perfectly possible to re-use most of our household water, especially if we use non-toxic cleaning agents such as Ecover washing powder or Seventh Generation cleaners.

You can buy neat gizmos to help you save water, too. At the simplest, a syphon can help with re-using bath water for watering garden plants.

Many people can save a lot of water in daily life just by fitting a space-filler inside the toilet cistern. Save-a-flush "Hippos" and "Frogs" are common in England. Doubtless similar products are on sale in the USA and elsewhere.

Eco Tip for Screen Wash

by Howard
(England)

I don't bother buying expensive screen wash for my car. Instead I fill mine up with cold water and a good dash of vinegar and a squirt of fairy liquid - you'll soon figure out the ratios.

It works perfectly and hasn't caused me any problems so far!

Eco Screen Wash
by: Anonymous

I've done this, too and it works fine as long as you don't put too much washing up liquid in the mix.
